This dvd has the entire first season of 13 episodes of the television series BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER on it.

Buffy is an ordinary 16-year-old girl who learns she's not so ordinary after all; she is the Slayer, a single exceptional girl who must do battle with vampires, demons, and other supernatural beings whilst struggling with school and dating at the same time.

this was one of the 1990s' most popular and highly acclaimed television series, and this dvd also features audio commentary by creator Joss Whedon, on the two-part pilot episode. there are also interviews with Joss Whedon and star David Boreanaz (ANGEL)

    well worth renting out.

This really gave me a blast to the past as was my favourite show as a teen and it didn't disappoint me in remembering why I loved it the first time great plots and twists and great actors make this one of the best cult tv shows ever made.

  • The original NecroChickPorn series?

Bad acting, corney lines, predictable story lines. rewatching this series so many years after i had first seen it makes me wonder what it was that i enjoyed so much about it the first time. If you have nothing better to do, it might be worth a watch but dont expect an awesome story line. The movie was better, it didn't try so hard to be edgy.

Hmm i wonder if we should be blaming this series for the vast amounts of necrochickporn (Vampyre Sex books/Dark Fantasy) that we are now being inundated with....

things to look forward to though...Dark willow is a hotty...once she gets legal at least.

Welcome to Sunnydale new home of the Slayer.

Sarah Michelle Gellar steps into the shoes left vacant by Kristy Swanson after the less than impressive Buffy movie five years earlier and the shoes fit perfectly.

It's hard to imagine anyone other than SMG as Buffy now, maybe one day in the distant future the powers that be will choose to remake and recast Buffy but until that day (and most likely forever after) SMG is the Vampire Slayer.

This first series keeps it's ambitions small, it introduces us to Scooby Gang stalwarts Giles, Xander, Willow, Cordelia and Angel. There is a ongoing subplot involving season one's 'Big Bad' The Master but most episodes are stand alone stories where Buffy and gang have to defeat some manner of demonic threat lured to Sunnydale by the presence of the Hellmouth.

A great start combining kick-ass action with smart one liners, season one gives us a small taste of the heights this series would reach over the following six years.

Joss Whedon is a genuis, Buff said!

Wow, what can you say about buffy season one. It’s totally amazing, like the preceding two seasons there is a certain charm this period in the buffy story arc. I think it’s that the story although supernatural fits into a real life situation, the stories are very well written and not overboard on special effects. This is a must see for all sci-fi fans, the only thing wrong with this dvd is the transfer has not provided us with the best quality video.
