Buffed Up
By a customer from London , 22 Dec 2004[Highly rated reviewer]
The thing with Buffy is that its very good. This Season is no different. There are a few of the 'weaker' episodes, but on the whole the overall story progression is gripping, many of the ideas excellent, and all is flavoured by that ever entertaining quirky/comedic dialogue.
If you've not seen Buffy before, start from the beginning, Season 1. And watch them all back-to-back if possible. It's the best way to get into a series in order to fully appreciate the character and over-arching narative development. Although of course in familiar US TV show tradition, most episodes have a relatively stand-alone quality. Season 3, whilst not my favourite Season overall, still delivers nonetheless.- Was this review helpful to you?

Gotta have Faith!
By PJshadow (199 reviews) from Leeds , 23 Oct 2010[Highly rated reviewer]
If you thought Seasons 1 & 2 were good you'll love Season 3!
There's a new Slayer in town, to replace the short lived Kendra from season 2, she's called Faith and she's got bags of attitude, bad attitude!
Eliza Dushku is fantastic as Faith the Vampire Slayer, she's mad, bad and sexy which inevitably winds Buffy up.
As if the introduction of one great new character isn't enough we also get rookie Watcher Wesley Wyndam-Pryce (Alexis Denisof). Wes is admittedly a bit hit-and-miss but as anyone who watched Angel will know goes on to become one of the most interesting characters in the Buffy/Angel universe.
We also get to meet Anya (Emma Caulfield) the vengence demon. Although she only appears on a few occasions Anya is an intriguing character, will she side with the Scooby's? The Big Bad? Or is she just out for number one? You might not get all the answers this Season.
One of the biggest treats of Season 3 though is undoubtably the 'Big Bad' Sunnydale's own Mayor, Richard Wilkins III. Harry Groener certainly looked like he was having fun with the character of the Mayor his performances are fantastic, he steals every scene effortlessly. Evil yet well mannered and obsessed with cleanliness.
Other than the new cast we also get regular show favourites, Willow, Xander, Giles, Angel, Cordelia, Joyce, Spike (briefly) and Oz.
