I love Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
But this is the point where it all goes disastrously wrong for our heroine and the sometime-genius show she is in.
Doublemeat Palace. Two words which strike fear into the heart of any Buffy fan. Truly the worst episode in the history of Buffy.
The mess the writers have made out of the three main points of Season Six is appalling.
Firstly, Buffy's relationship with Spike which veers off onto a completely different course from the growing friendship and attraction we have seen in the first half of the season, it feels like the characters are being led by the writers in a direction that doesn't come naturally and it is almost painful to watch.
Then there is Willow's magic 'addiction'. It is a lame, lame attempt at 'issue' drama that falls flat on its face.
Finally there are the nerds, supposedly the season's villains who have by now ceased to be even slightly amusing.
Dead Things - horrible, had me shouting at the screen. Older And Far Away - no continuity of character relationships from the previous episode, dull, everyone is horrible. As You Were - The return of Riley, 'nuff said.
The characters (with the exception of Tara) all become less and less likable as the series continues its descent into ill-thought out darkness.
In my humble opinion this is the best season in an exceptional series. Buffy is brought back from the dead by her friends, having sacrificed herself for her sister in the end of the last season. In this season she tries to come to terms with being wrenched back into reality and the disconnection she feels with her former life and her friends. It is probably the darkest season of all.
If the rest of the season was rubbish (which it certainly is not) this would rate 7 just for the musical episode 'Once More With Feeling' which must be a contendor for the best TV episode ever made. (And I hate musicals).
Chances are though if you're reading this you already know what I'm talking about.
This series just gets better and better! There isn't a dull episode in this season at all. What I really liked was that the content this season is a lot darker and more adult. The things that go on with Spike and Buffy is really cool.
When I first heard about the musical episode 'Once more with feeling' I must admit that I was a little sceptical if it would work or not.Boy was I wrong! It is fantastic & works a lot better than you might think. Can't wait to get my hands on season 7.
Season 6 is a really good buffy season i think 'once more with feeling'is the best episode in the first 6 seasons. I have all of the buffy seasons and theres not one i don't like. I want it to come back on telly as well.Buffy the vampire slayer is ae.

I love Buffy and mourn it's demise because in a world where everything is far too depressing for words, to have a show that is pure escapism, but with intelligent writing and great acting, and lots of wit is a balm for the soul. I love that the characters involve you, and that Spike is so fit..although, having watched the audience with the cast feature on the dvd, I can safely say that the guy who plays Spike, James Marsters, has just about the most annoying accent ever..I was soooo disappointed when he opened his mouth as he is a beautiful man and sounds sexy when he's in character, but hey, life doesn't always imitate art unfortunately. So, I may be in my thirties and some would say that my Buffy obsession is a little sad, but I don't care, it rocks, and I am sad that it has ended.
My very favourite Buffy series. I know everyone has their own favourite Buffy series, but for me series six is the one where the elements that make up great Buffy were all in balance. It's intelliengent, witty, emotionally honest and deeply silly. It's perfect! Buffy and her friends have to come to terms with being alive in a grown up world, and the lack of nice clear boundaries between good guys and bad guys... Plus you get the Buffy Musical (surely the most ambitious televsion episode of the nineties), and the magnificent Tabula Rasa, where all the revelations from the musical hit home. And let's not forget the Doublemeat Palace, gambling for kittens, the return of Amy and that foray into sadomasochism.Don't miss it!
My word this is a great disc, and the twist at the end leaves you gasping for breath. The violence in the last episode although nothing compared to some movies is so unexpected that it physically left me speechless.
Well done yet another excellent disc.
This is the best tv series ever written! All 7 seasons of Buffy are simply excellent - you must watch them all! Sarah Michelle Gellar is simply delicious!
This is a highly entertaing series about a girl who fights vampires, demons, monsters, etc. It is extremely witty, funny, well written and action packed.

The best Buffy season, in my opinion. But then I watch Buffy for the relationships and one liners more than the monsters and vampires.
As a child of the eighties, the villains make me roll around with their asides about Star Wars, etc. Although the writers don't let us get away with thinking evil is always funny, and shock us back to reality sometimes.
As for Spike... swoon. So much better than the soppy Angel.
