Buffy The Box Office Failure
By a customer from Bedfordshire, England , 31 Jul 2004[Highly rated reviewer]
If, like me, you're a pretty big fan of the television series of Buffy The Vampire Slayer then you're probably reading this review because you're thinking of checking out the film that started it all. My advice to you would be simply this: don't. It's so bad it made me want to paint a bullseye on my neck and run naked through Sunnydale singing 'come and have a go if you think you're hard enough'. The acting is terrible, the dialogue painful and the plot's obviously been put through a shredder and taped back together with no consideration for pacing or the build up of tension at all. How they ever managed to convince the powers that be to finance a series after this is beyond me.- Was this review helpful to you?

(33)Good For A Few Laughs But A Bad Film Overall
By AngelFox (1 review) , 05 Dec 2012Hard to believe that this is what spawned the iconic TV series we all came to know and love, even harder to see how Joss Whedon managed to keep his integrity in tact after making this. It's by no means the worst thing I've ever seen, it has a light-hearted followable plot and a few funny jokes thrown into the mix (And is so INCREDIBLY 90's) but this film has aged pretty poorly and it really does show. I'd recommend it as a quick rental for Buffy fans who want a few cheap giggles but it's definitely NOT recommend purchasing it and making it a permanent part of your DVD collection.- Was this review helpful to you?

the series was better
By cheesekake (1282 reviews) from uk , 07 Apr 2012quite boring, and very silly, didn't enjoy this film at all, much prefered the series, which give the film more depth.
this film just seemed to be trying too hard at an incapable task- Was this review helpful to you?

Let down
By a customer , 23 Apr 2011Being a bit of a fan of the TV show, I thought this would be worth a watch. I was badly let down! The words mundane and predictable spring to mind!- Was this review helpful to you?

not too sure of this
By lastengland (81 reviews) from Winchester , 27 Oct 2010sorry folks but nothing like the series. Loved Donald Sutherland (kind of reminded me of his role in Dirty Dozen).
A wee bit too cheesy, but Luke Perry certainly worth the watch....- Was this review helpful to you?
