Knowing Hackney very well, the settings and characters were homely and familiar. This is not all that Hackney is but its not an uncommon story. How many women have cried for their sons.
I liked the pace of the film, not too frenetic, and apart from the christian moralising found it moving and enjoyable.
There's alot of guns in Hackney and I thought the film intimated at the cycle of violence very well and the wisdom that the only release is breaking out of it, letting go. There isn't another way out.
