Curiously Stylish
By Brief (45 reviews) from Leeds , 28 Oct 2011[Highly rated reviewer]
Take a bunch of assassins, a seedy underworld setting, an over-coloured style and some delicious audio embellishments and you'll be watching the graphic-novel Bunraku. It doesn't take itself too seriously, so nor should you. But the set-piece fight scenes and the diverse (and overdone) characters make for some great entertainment. A bit predictable at times, but there are a few answers to be had at the end (so worth staying with it).- Was this review helpful to you?

(58)Another movie to miss
By rotteneggs (56 reviews) , 08 Jan 2013Bunnwhat?, what was this all about, again boring pretentious crap. Seemed like they tried to emulate an American 50's comic book noire theme. Why I don't know, because it doesn't make this very poor film any better. You will simply waste nearly 2 hours of your life watching this.- Was this review helpful to you?

Sin city in the wild west, or was that Feudal Japan?
By Damo13666 (14 reviews) from Chippenham , 16 Nov 2012Oh dear. Annoying narrator. Clunky dialect, cardboard acting and terribly choreographed fighting. The film tries too hard to be stylish. This is a real shame as it could have been great and has a collection of good actors. Worth a watch but don't expect too much.- Was this review helpful to you?

White Elephant
By a customer , 21 Oct 2012The worst film ever, considering the talented cast employed. The fact that it cost over £25million to make I could not see what the money was spent on.- Was this review helpful to you?

Really not sure...
By Benjani (50 reviews) from Truro , 31 Aug 2012Real shame the talent is slightly wasted by the (I think) direction here. Although people compare it to Sin City I wonder if that is because ethey don't remember the 1990 film Dick Tracy. It's more like that in style and set design which is a shame - the beginning of the film did give me hope but within 20 minutes I began worrying and after 40 I turned it off. Woody Harrelson has a good part (as usual) but the film just doesn't go anywhere. Makes it really hard to identify with anyone without giving us much character to go on. Note to director - a paused shot and a facial expression aren't enough to go on. It's worth a watch to see if you like it but the start was the best bit and to be honest I think they had just got the idea from Kung Fu Hustle.- Was this review helpful to you?

dreadfull film
By smokeychops (554 reviews) from newcastle under lyme , 27 Jul 2012I just did not get this film at all. Its dreadfull the fighting scenes are not upto much either. Do not get what the story was probably because it was that boring. The background scenery was the worst I have ever seen. Give it a miss.- Was this review helpful to you?
