Leaving aside the wild implausibility of the plot, this is a neat thriller sequel that's essentially a reprise of the original. Set in the same town, it has Stephen Caffrey scheming with his mistress Tracey Needham to poison his wife Ally Sheedy, who has just inherited a fortune. Of course, things don't go quite according to plan. Smartly directed by the star of the original, Tim Matheson (he also has a cameo), it makes for a far-fetched but entertaining hour-and-a-half's viewing.

    It Should Be Buried Alive

Despite the presence of Messrs Pleasance, Carradine & Vaughn, this was pretty dire. Poe had a fear of being buried alive which figures in many of his books. Had he watched this he would have been reaching for the shovel - not to bury himself but to bury whoever used his name to promote such rubbish. The 'scary' bits were predictable and not particularly scary. I fell asleep a couple of times so may have missed the interesting parts but I doubt it. Not recommended unless you're desperate for something to watch.
