Smashing Film

What can I say about this film it basically about an ageing Estate Agent played by John Thaw who returns home from the office one day to be greeted by the police who inform him that his daughter who he has not seen for a number of years has died, and after going to identify her body he arrives at the flat she was living in only to discover that she had a mixed race daughter his Grand daughter he never knew existed, The film then sets about telling of all the events as they try to build a life around one another, It is both amusing and dramatic in parts and well worth watching John Thaw plays an excellent part as he always does.- Was this review helpful to you?

By a customer from Blackpool England , 07 Apr 2006I had heard so much about this and missed it on the TV so thought I would watch it this way. John Thaw is very good as are the other adult actors but the child has a lot to learn. The story was OK and the end was nice but in all I didn't really think it that good.- Was this review helpful to you?
