    [Highly rated reviewer]

I like Ryan Reynolds so thought I would give this a try. Thought it might have been a little like PhoneBooth. NO!! Phonebooth was actually really good. This was a load of rubbish. The storyline weak and no real acting needed. No real suspense and you couldnt care less what happened to him. No connections with any of the characters. Do not waste your time and a rental with this film. I feel cheated. Would never watch again.

and save you a couple of hours of your life. Guy gets buried in a box in Iraq, or Nevada or somewhere - it doesnt matter because you only see the inside of the box, and you only see the guy in the box. all the other actors are 'voice talent'. He has a magical phone that works underground, and tools to dig himself out, and a zippo. He rings a few people, and gets them to look for him and waits for them to find him. They don't find him. He dies. Presumably because he forgot to use the tools in the box to dig his way out. This is called Darwinism in action.

A film that really does make you feel trapped! If your looking for face-paced action movie this film really isn't for you. However if your looking for more of a drama/survival sort of film then your looking at the right film. This film draws all the right emotions from you. For me this film was an okay film- I saw the coffin as more of an hourglass than anything. If you love analyzing films then rent this one- however if your looking for more of a long last survival then probably look at 127 hours

Entire film set in a coffin... really painful to watch at times especially if you're claustrophobic. The plot and the performance aren't quite strong enough to pull it off. It has some good moments - but on the whole I'd give it a miss.

  • Uncoordinated and mal-produced.

Don't bother watching this film. It seems to have been made by complete imbeciles. What really made me laugh is the Director saying in the documentary 'There are 40000 reasons not to make this film' which really should have told him all he needs to know. It's frustratingly slow and the plot becomes ridiculous. What compounded my belief in the complete absurdity in which the production team seemed to operate was after a 'dramatic ending' a upbeat hillbilly barndance song plays the movie out. If the aim was to confuse, that was there only success.

This film was just OK for me, just as it says on the tin!....... I would put this film in line but not as high as Danny Boyles 127hrs, just a little boring at times but manages to keep you interested. Ryan Reynolds plays Paul Conroy, a man who wakes up in coffin with little idea how he got there other than a vague recollection of his supply convoy being attacked by insurgents. Buried in the desert with no way out, he resorts to the contents of his pockets for a life line and chance of escape, but will he? Ryan Reynolds gives a good and realistic performance of the lengths that someone would go through for freedom. This is not the sort of film I would go out and buy to watch again, especially when everything takes place within a coffin, so it would make you believe that this film must have been made on a minimum budget. Not bad though, I’ve seen worse!.
