This first series of Burn UP Warrior was reasonable. The plot in this series was focused on a special police force, the warriors, fighting against a mastermind organization behind all the terrorist attacks in Police Town. The mastermind which they are only just beginning to unveil. This series does contain some voilence, and bloody scenes. Also, there are some light teen comedy, however these do not detract from the main story line. unlike its successor Burn Up Excess.
I would say do not judge this series based purely on the first episode alone as the first episode is below average. A few years ago I rented it and did exactly that, but now on a second viewing, I enjoyed it far more after watching all four episodes together.
I found the Dubbed version of the episodes to be rather annoying and cringe-worthy but after changing to the original Japanese soundtrack, the series is far more enjoyable and watchable. Although its funny and light-hearted, the series takes a dark turn half way through and bumps up the drama and the action, while continuing into a two-part story.
The animation is good and although it isnt as vibrant as some of the more recent Anime, it serves its purpose well. Its a shame the series ended without any ending to the story-threads it was setting up. Although this may continue in its spin-off series Burn-Up Excess.
