You start watching this documentary thinking that it will be a straightforward tale about how society has failed kids from the wrong side of town, but the director has been clever in organizing the order in which you are fed information...making you realize that the story is much more complicated and multi-layered. The fact that the film-maker was able to use unique close-up footage of the events makes this documentary much more personal; therefore, the message comes across more effectively and less as a stereotypical moral tale.
