Teens! And Comedy! Together At Last!By David Levy from Totteridge, London , 07 Oct 2004
[Highly rated reviewer]Despite having an almost decent cast, including Ryan Reynolds and Ron Livingston, Buying The Cow is an almost complete failure.
While there are those that might find a man watching a 'Are You Gay?' video funny, or a jokes involving 'well developed' 11 year olds amusing, I was not one.
Bridgette Wilson and Jerry O'Connell have zero chemistry as our leading lady and man, which is quite ironic, as they are both total personality and charisma free zones, and would probably work well together in real life. Its a shame she managed to marry the only man duller on the entire planet (Pete Sampras) before this movie was made.
So, go ahead if you've got an unbearable urge to lower your IQ, but the rest should stay clear.

Ryan Reynolds doing the testi-tuck!By Beaujangles (6 reviews) from Warwickshire , 24 Sep 2010OK so i don't remember much about this film, what was the plot again?
But i do remember Ryan Reynolds... naked... doing the testi-tuck.... and climbing out of a window.....naked....totally naked....and thinking he's a 'raging homosexual' for most of the film.
So if you like Ryan Reynolds you have no option but to see this film.
Caused a disagreement in my house!By Cazuk1976 (230 reviews) from Peterborough , 08 Aug 2010I actually quite liked this film, lots of funny moments, and of course, Ryan Reynolds is, as usual, halarious! but my husband thought it was slow and sluggish, and not that funny, he rated it 2 stars i rated it 4 so we went half way. It is a silly movie, the plot is flimsy, and it is a little slow to start, but if you're wasting time anyway, its a good movie to see, just don't expect much from it!
OKBy Citylogic (6 reviews) from Kendal , 23 May 2009But lost the thread of the story and it got boring a bit.
buying the other stuff you don't really want too...By beckstar (9 reviews) from Coventry , 18 Mar 2009I absolutely love Ryan Reynolds! I absolutely did not love this film!
Aside from this 'love', I am rather sceptical as to the actual quality of his acting skill, however, his character is the only thing holding together a damp 'finding yourself, rom-com with a twist'
I would have much rather have seen the scenes with Ryan in them as they are truly comical and have sent the rest of the weak storyline dross back to the editing room floor...
This had a lot of potential to be a really good story, should any time, money or effort have been put into it... there wasn't, and thus, it wasn't... this was poor and probably not worth expending the couple hours...
Buying The CowBy mark29 (60 reviews) from Dunbar , 28 Jun 2008I found this film surprising, I didn't expect much from it as I had never heard of it before and assumed it would be a low budget film and therefore rubbish, but I thought it was rather good and well worth viewing, even if only once.
