There's always something strange brewing at the Black Cat Café. During one lunchtime at this offbeat coffee house, the relationships of the quirky staff and several couples are turned upside down by the sudden revelations of supremely embarrassing secrets relating to their sexual behavior... and misbehavior. Caffeine is an eccentric comedy about the hapless attempts of these characters to repair their fractured relationships as they confront issues of fidelity, betrayal, forgiveness, and commitment.

If you're thinking about adding this to your list, take a look at the cover. You see Breckin Myer and Mena Suvari standing there, so you think you're renting a low budget american indie film about life in a coffee house - maybe in small town USA, something like that.
How wrong you'd be. It's actually a BRITISH film.
Just when I thought i'd heard the worst attempt ever at a british accent by Jennifer Love Hewitt, along comes Mena Suvari to make Hewitt sound positively Paltrow-esque.
You've got mostly american actors playing british, in a british 'comedy' set in a coffee shop in london.
What about the film?. Well the 'comedy' aspect is completely non existent. The script comes across as more of a student project than anything else with bad dialogue and poorly written characters who are thoroughly unlikeable.
And how did they get so many US actors ?. Even the lovely Katherine Heigl ('Izzy' from Greys Anatomy and 'Knocked Up' at the cinema) has a starring role in it.
I can only guess the director called in some favours, and they all thought it would be a laugh to practise their british accents.
I really can't over state how truly terrible this film is. I'd rather go and see an Eli Roth film than watch this again, and that's saying something.
i urge you, with every fibre in my being, do not rent this film.
This film contains the best selection of bad English acsents every, i mean why not just set the cafe in america or hire English actors, the whole thing is bogus, the actors are bad, the story line could have been written by a 10 year old and then the production is so bad.
Once again there's much to see in this week's pick of new DVD releases, starting with Will Ferrell's latest comedy Blades of Glory. Although the world of ice skating may not sound that amusing, seeing Ferrell and co-star Jon Heder dress up in tight, bright figure-hugging spandex is just the start of the laughs in this movie. British comedy I Want Candy is also likely to bring a smile, starring Eastenders' Michelle Ryan and The Office actor Mackenzie Crook. The film follows two students'... Read more
