Took this over to my mums for mothers day wkend and we watched all six. It's got all elements of love, laughter, sadness and really takes you back to that era. I would highly recommend! Enjoy :-)- Was this review helpful to you?

Outstanding program
By Midwifery (3 reviews) , 26 Feb 2013I absolutely love this program as it depicts what life was like in London in the 1950s. It is funny and has some lovable actors and actresses in it. It shows that Jennifer Worth made a huge impact upon many lives in the east end. The program remains very true to the book which makes it even more appealing to watch.- Was this review helpful to you?

Absorbing, fabulous, want more!!
By shinyotter (2 reviews) , 11 Jan 2013Utterly fabulous series; my only criticism is that I want **more**! I laughed, cried, loved the costumes, and revelled in the slightly saccharine depiction of the mid-late 50's East End. In addition to being excellent drama, I challenge anyone not to think long and hard about some of the medical and social issues raised by this brilliant programme.- Was this review helpful to you?

So innocent (in a positive way)and just nice (in a positive way), this series is genuine and heartwarming and will become a British classic if it is not already. True stories with fantastic characters this is something all ages can enjoy- Was this review helpful to you?

Heartwarming viewing
By a customer , 20 Sep 2012Heartwarming viewing. Absolutely loved it. If you like stuff like Downtown Abbey and Larkrise to Candleford, then your'll probably love this.
I am so glad I didn't have to wait to watch it week by week when it first came out. I watched 1 a night and it was such a treat.
Can't wait for the next series (if there is one?).
