Religious Propaganda NOT HorrorBy TRS80 (95 reviews) from Northwich , 01 Jan 2012
[Highly rated reviewer]This excuse for a film is an insult to the average persons intelligence. If you believe that drugs, alcohol, masturbation, pre-marital sex and orgasms are the work of the devil and by partaking of them you will be torn apart by demons then watch it.If you live in the real world and don't believe in the ability of statues of the virgin mary to tell the devil to go away then don't waste your money on this tripe.

A film about religious extremityBy Sammy1973 (305 reviews) from King's Lynn , 15 May 2013I enjoyed this film as I find the topic of religious extremity and it's effects quite fascinating and this was one concerning extreme christianity. The film shows the terrible effects extreme religion can have on the young in a mental and emotional way. I felt that the film portrayed these effects in a very simple way. The characters were likeable and believeable and I felt the story is one that needs to be told.
Best give this one a missBy Starski (33 reviews) from Trowbridge , 31 Jan 2013This film was sold on the fact that Eisenberg was in it..he is...for about 5 mins. This could have been quite a scary film if something had happened! I don't agree that the religion was being rammed down your throat though..that's what the film was about after all. It was just ruined because there was no sign of the evil force that was meant to be present!
Rubbish movie!!By a customer , 29 Jan 2013This is not a horror movie, it is by far one of the worst films i think i have ever seen, don't bother renting it people!!!
Camp Hell Mis-SellBy Kev3 (26 reviews) , 10 Dec 2012
[Highly rated reviewer]What to say?! No horror or suspense, Eisenberg is hardly in it, and its basically about religion and the strength/ridiculousless of it all. The 'true events' it is based on, by the directors own admission, are a typical Jesus camp he went to rather than anything that actually happened. Boring movie, very, very misleading advertising, and generally worth missing. The actors do their best though, with a poor script. Totally and utterly pointless and illogical.
God AwfulBy billybbadger (65 reviews) , 13 Aug 2012Maybe the director of this has multiple personalities. That might explain why this dreadful film can't make it's mind up what it is. What it isn't is a horror film, it isn't starring Jesse Eisenberg who barely makes an appearance, it isn't in any way a true story and it isn't in the least bit good. Is there a way of giving no stars? The only people who could possibly enjoy this are insane christian fundamentalists who might find some evidence that the devil and all his works are out to get us all and then scare their children into thinking this is what happens if you don't follow every nutty notion they put forward. Sane christians and any other sane people will just look at this with open mouths and wonder how anybody could waste their time making or appearing in this garbage. Jesus certainly didn't save this one.
