Every conceivable stereotype of American teenagehood is on display in this woefully unfunny slice of wish fulfilment, as a bunch of spoilt nerds set up their own summer camp with unemployed drama teacher Christopher Lloyd in nominal charge. There are one or two laughs when the suspicious parents show up for an open day, but the whole production has a dashed-off air to it. The children are both bratty and anaemic, and the film would benefit from a good deal less of them and more of reliable old hands M Emmet Walsh and Burgess Meredith.
Moderate comedy that pretends to be rebellious before settling for an affirmation of family values.
