[Highly rated reviewer]my daughter loved Camp Rock on the disney channel. The film stars the Jonas Brothers - Kevin, Joe and Nick and newcomer Demi Lovato (she was recently seen in Prison Break, Just Jordan and As The Bell Rings).
The story follows Connie (played by Maria Canals Barrera), Steve (played by Ed Jaunz) and Mitchie Torres (played by Demi Lovato), an aspiring young musician who is hoping to become a professional singer.
Mitchie wants to go to a music camp for aspiring young musicians called 'Camp Rock'.
As her family can not afford her tuition, Mitchie's mother arranges to cater food for the camp, in doing this Mitchie is allowed to attend Camp Rock.
Mitchie tries to hide this from her friends at the camp, by saying her mum is president of Hot Tunes TV China.
Meanwhile spoiled rock star Shane Gray (played by Joe Jonas) has been put in charge of dance classes for one month at Camp Rock by his bandmates Jason (played by Kevin Jonas) and Nate (played by Nick Jonas).
Shane hears Mitchie singing, and falls in love with the voice, but does not know the identity of the singer.
Shane spends much of the film searching for the girl with the amazing voice.
Shane and Mitchie have various interactions, and, when Shane learns of the person she pretends to be, a romance between the two blossoms until he finds out that she was lying about who she was.
But when he realizes that Mitchie is the girl that he had heard singing, Shane reinstigates their relationship.
Peggy, one of Tess' friends, wins Final Jam and a recording contract with Shane.
Well worth watching.

high school musical has a lot to answer forBy mintomax (21 reviews) from Brighton , 15 Mar 2009dont get me wrong the plot and acting in this film are ok, (not great just ok). the reason this gets a one only is the music in this is awful beyond beleif, for a film thats called camp rock there couldnt be less of an absense of rock. Dont get me wrong I am not a massive rock fan or anything but the only kind of music in this is syncopated pop music of the worst kind, the kind of bad music that makes britney spears look like the most hardcore underground music artist. high school musical has a lot to answer for as this is obviosly one of its copycat style dross. high school musical isnt even that good why are we getting copycat films. The only good thing about this film is alyson stoner who despite what shes been put into still gives agood performance.
