Light hearted ' Who Done It?'
By a customer from England , 15 Sep 2004[Highly rated reviewer]
Although originally screened in 1989, Campion has not lost it's charm and is still very watchable, in fact it has not 'aged'. You don't need too much concentration, (which is good, if you're like me and sometimes find it hard to follow programmes like this).
Campion's side-kick, Lug, is brilliant and the combination of Campion, (the well to do gentlemen) and Lug, (the down to earth, say what he feels valet), is quite entertaining. This particular episode has a twist at the end, so you may think you've got it sussed but find that you have been misled. What has happened?, watch it and see.
---You know, I think Lug should be introduced to Jeeves, (from Jeeves and Wooster). If a program was made with these two, the detective work would be a doddle, but a very comical doddle, with a bit of seriousness here and there!- Was this review helpful to you?

By Rifleman (12 reviews) from Moniaive Scotland , 05 Jun 2011Great stuff,it is just a pity that no more of the novels have been made into TV/DVD. Peter Davidson is brilliant in the role of Albert Campion. Rent or buy it.- Was this review helpful to you?

Brilliant Campion rules
By CuddlyToy (4 reviews) from Cambridge , 25 Mar 2011This is a superb rendition of the original book. It's a shame the series wasn't more successful and the BBC convinced to make more. Watch it and enjoy a classic period piece- Was this review helpful to you?

Always enjoyable
By a customer from Yorkshire , 04 Feb 2008Peter Davison is excellent. The plot is solid. The acting is credible. The atmosphere for the period just right. The music is pitched perfectly. What else can I say? It's a pity they didn't make more of these.- Was this review helpful to you?

Entertaining
By a customer from North West England , 15 Dec 2005No film can compare with the excellence of Allingham's writing, but the series is well produced and directed. Unfortunately the character of Lugg is undeveloped.- Was this review helpful to you?
