Capote review

What a splendid and gripping film. Hoffman is a genius and acts the pants of the rest of the cast. The story of an obsessive and inspired author putting everything, even the lives of others, to risk for the sake of a new narrative is extraordinary and wonderfully told. This is a film of faces. Faces, faces, faces everywhere. I found myself revelling in the sequence of wonderful, period looks of people, places and things.
I also wondered if there was a point forward here too? Andy Warhol was not to emerge for another twenty years but Capote looks and feels like the premonition of that brat pack.. Fascinating.
