Good old fashioned entertainmentBy Pinheaddude (134 reviews) from Maidenhead , 09 Dec 2011
[Highly rated reviewer]This is really a much more old fashioned Saturday morning adventure than your normal superhero movie. It sets the scene from the start with some good but not in your face special effects (skinny Chris Evans looks amazing) and (shock horror) gaves you characters to care about. The storyline is bit basic but it was nice to see no great character arc, he is a good man at the start and this continues. A grand finish and rather poignent ending make this one of the more enjoyable marvel flicks.

Another Marvel marvel.By a customer , 04 Apr 2013I've enjoyed all the Marvel and/or Avengers style titles that I've watched so far, and this is no exception. If you've enjoyed Thor, Iron Man (or any others of the same ilk) you should not be disappointed with this offering. I think my only criticism was the ending, which maybe could have been introduced a bit more smoothly. As it was, it happened too suddenly for me, and Captain America seemed to just go 'oh ok' and carried on. It may have been a bit more believable if they had put perhaps another 5 minutes into easing both the superhero (and the audience) into it more gracefully. Otherwise, a thoroughly enjoyable film.
Good superhero action filmBy a customer , 24 Mar 2013A very good film. In particular, thought the villain (Red Skull) was great. Good build up to the Avengers movie.
Enjoyable and entertainingBy sp123 (5 reviews) , 20 Mar 2013Really enjoyed this film, pretty cheesy in places but was pleasantly suprised with the story, action and acting, would recomend to anyone who likes a superhero movie.
Ok SuperpersonBy a customer , 16 Mar 2013Was advised to watch this film way before Avengers Assemble but just quite never got round to it. Was an ok film to watch and not too bad.
Absolute Marvel Comic escapism.By a customer , 14 Mar 2013Got sucked right into this one. A real underdog comes good story. Successfully gives an atmospheric feel of the 40's. We've watched & enjoyed Thor, Iron Man, & Avengers Assemble now. They all have a different feel, reflecting this very unique characters of the super hero's, but all have been utterly absorbing. Saturday night escapism! Hulk here we come.
