Good old fashioned entertainment
By Pinheaddude (47 reviews) from Maidenhead , 09 Dec 2011[Highly rated reviewer]
This is really a much more old fashioned Saturday morning adventure than your normal superhero movie. It sets the scene from the start with some good but not in your face special effects (skinny Chris Evans looks amazing) and (shock horror) gaves you characters to care about. The storyline is bit basic but it was nice to see no great character arc, he is a good man at the start and this continues. A grand finish and rather poignent ending make this one of the more enjoyable marvel flicks.- Was this review helpful to you?

(326)Not what I had expected, but still ok
By KcAndLola (38 reviews) , 25 Jan 2013I saw this film after I had seen 'Avengers Assemble' and was disappointed to find that all the aspects of his character that I found funny and likable in the avengers film were not really featured in this one. As a standalone movie though I think it is well made and the story line is good, if a little dragged out.- Was this review helpful to you?

One of the better remakes
By lastengland (81 reviews) from Winchester , 11 Jan 2013wow a good remake of Captain America. Loved every minute of it from entrance by Hugo Weaving to Chris Evans waking up in '1940s' America..... Hugo Weaving is just briiliant (but them all his films are)....so too is Tommy Lee Jones - I wonder if at one point he did one of his own lines?? - gather he tends to 'ad lib' one liners - & there is a brillaint one in thsi film. A must see.- Was this review helpful to you?

Surprised At How Much Fun!
By Hiness (3 reviews) from CR5 1BF , 08 Jan 2013I really enjoyed this film, even though I forgot why I put it on my rental list - possibly because Samuel L Jackson was in it. It had some good moments and cute lines. I felt it was a bit like a James Bond movie. I'm glad I took it out to watch.- Was this review helpful to you?
