Back in front of the Bavarians, the magic continues, at least in the two B's - the Mozart seemed a little underpowered to this listener. The technique is all his own - the 'moulding' of phrases in the air in front of him; watching his own left hand 'shaping' a few bars; the ever-present, rather waxy smile, playing on his lips; a huge beam when he really likes something - and most notable of all, stopping completely when things are running well, and just letting them play. A unique presence.
