Most helpful review
Very well shot film.
By Michael McGhie from Bury, Lancashire. , 09 May 2004[Highly rated reviewer]
While the story is a little heavy-going or awkward at times the film is never less than beautiful to watch; there are some tremendous views of a rural England most people rarely see any longer and Emma Thompson looks great in an understated way. The music, by Michael Nyman, is excellent.- Was this review helpful to you?

(19)Carry on Carrington
By a customer , 09 Mar 2013Carrington is an artist who is probaly little known today . This film ,I think really helps bring her to life . Emma Tompson would not be the actress that would spring to mind to play Carrington ,but she does a good job. The costumes and set's are lovely ,somthing werdly overlooked in many movies. A tricky subject sensertivly shot .- Was this review helpful to you?

Unusual Liaisons
By a customer , 13 Jun 2011Excellent portrail of Dora Carrington and Lytton Strachey. The story is an unusual one but played so well by this great cast of English actors.- Was this review helpful to you?

Carrington - an unusual but enjoyable film
By a customer from Surrey , 16 Jun 2010Not quite what I was expecting but a very watchable and enjoyable film. Beautifully filmed and acted and would recommend watching on a cold winters day to remind you that England is beautiful in the Summer.- Was this review helpful to you?

will stay with you for all time
By petethepainter (16 reviews) from HATFIELD HERTS , 17 May 2010This story is the most tender thought provoking intimate love story you will ever see.
Emma Thompson is simply stunning as she slowly falls for the man that will dominate the rest of her life and Jonathan Pryce as Lytton Strachey is simply spellbinding in this beautiful passionate film. .Oscar winning performances abound and i for one cannot understand how this film was so overlooked in the awards.
I rate this as my fav. film of all time my second being Withnail and I.
Watch it and be blown away!!!- Was this review helpful to you?
