This is one of the weaker of the genre spoofs, but there's still much to raise a titter as Frankie Howerd and Kenneth Connor lead an expedition to Africa (Pinewood sets at their most gloriously economical) in order to find the Oozalum bird (legendary for its vanishing prowess). Along for the ride are Joan Sims in search of her long-lost son and Sid James seeking a rumble in the jungle. The reception committee includes Terry Scott as an infantile Tarzan and Charles Hawtrey as the Great Tonka, a tribal chief with a guilty secret. It's worth tagging along.

  • A tired parody of Tarzan and jungle films; the jokes get lost in the undergrowth.

    Carry On Up The Jungle.

The Usual Carry On team send up the Tarzan tradition in great style. Lady Evelyn Bagley mounts an expedition to find her long-lost baby. I really loved this adventure comedy. Very humourous. Worth watching.
