It had to happen. Pixar's winning streak couldn't go on forever.

[Highly rated reviewer]Like Shrek and couple other CGI films, the first sequal is as good if not better than the original and Cars 2 dosen't disppoint.
When I first saw the trailer, I wasn't 100% sure about it but I was 100% after watching about oh......a minute and it was fun recognising or even trying to recognising the voices like Eddie Issard and Micheal Caine as the cars. This film will not only entain the kids but the adults and the plot almost sounds like something like a James Bond film but with a tow truck as the hero and not necessarily the saive British car.
I must admit I was slightly confused about the French Robin Reliant and how fast it could go, LOL.

On the Road AgainBy Samoza (231 reviews) from Reading , 22 Aug 2012As a nation the Brits love a winner. We love them because its all the more enjoyable when they fall flat on their face! Ha, Ha, Ha, you once achieved something that I am incapable of doing, but now you appear mortal like me. Loser. Pixar can only be described as a bunch of winners; there films are commercial and critical gold. Then along came Cars 2. From the press reaction you would think this was the worst film since J Lo and Affleck decided to get together on celluloid. Is Cars 2 really that bad, or is it more a case that we expect more than plain average form Pixar?
Speed McQueen, Mater and the rest of Radiator Springs are back, but rather than staying in the dustbowls of America, Cars 2 opens itself up to the world when Speed is asked to partake in an international Grand Prix. Mater comes along as part of his crew and in a case of mistaken identity he becomes the Car that Knew Too Much. With its bright colours and improbable setting Cars 2 is perhaps the most child centric Pixar film to date. It has less appeal to an adult than even A Bugs Life or Finding Nemo. However, if you can put this to one side and try and watch it with the imagination of the young, there is a lot of fun to be had.
Pixar had a great time making fun of the Deep South in Cars, this time it is the turn of countries like Japan, Britain and Italy. No stereotype is left unturned and for every visual joke that works, there is another that is borderline xenophobic. Do we really want our children to live their lives through a series of stereotypes? Despite the clichés being laid on thick, the jokes on different cultures are by far the best thing about the film. The spy storyline is certainly not. It is merely an excuse to move the characters around. Other issues surround the fact that Larry the Cable Guy is given too much screen time as Mater and I still cannot comprehend how a planet full of cars without opposable thumbs were able to build everything. Where the human race enslaved to build this paradise, only to be summary executed? Who knows?
Cars 2 is empty headed fun that kids will love and adults can still enjoy. Just sit back and enjoy the ride, rather than trying to compare it to Pixars masterpieces.
As a CGI cartoon the BluRay is a must, the colours look amazing. The multidisc versions of the film also offer a ton of extras that youngsters who like the film will lap up. Especially the animated shorts.
Cars 2By a customer , 16 Jul 2012Ordered this film for our son who is almost 4 years. He enjoys watching cars over and over but didnt really watch cars 2.
The races and all the different cars are fantastic to watch but i think cars 2 had just too much going on and too much to follow for the younger ones.
The storyline was just too much...go back to basics Pixar.

A tune up need for Pixar.By a customer , 05 Jul 2012This is a fine film, but think that there was too many things I didn't like, the fact that I watched it once and sent it back says a lot.
There wasn't any moments that you'd say thats great, like in other Pixar films.
You can miss this and not feel that you're missing something great.
