It had to happen. Pixar's winning streak couldn't go on forever.

I wonder what vehicle I would be in the Car's universeBy Metaliant (65 reviews) from Walsall , 23 Nov 2011

[Highly rated reviewer]Like Shrek and couple other CGI films, the first sequal is as good if not better than the original and Cars 2 dosen't disppoint.
When I first saw the trailer, I wasn't 100% sure about it but I was 100% after watching about oh......a minute and it was fun recognising or even trying to recognising the voices like Eddie Issard and Micheal Caine as the cars. This film will not only entain the kids but the adults and the plot almost sounds like something like a James Bond film but with a tow truck as the hero and not necessarily the saive British car.
I must admit I was slightly confused about the French Robin Reliant and how fast it could go, LOL.

Running on emptyBy RockThunders (3 reviews) , 15 May 2012I love Pixar movies - great stories, rounded characters and brilliant animation, but Cars 2 is the worst. The makers threw everything at the story in attempt to distract you from the inconsistent and hollow idea, but by the end you just feel exhausted and empty.
From a teenage lad, simply brilliant!By NOTRUB44 (7 reviews) , 15 May 2012
[Highly rated reviewer]I watched Cars when I was younger and it has always been one of my firm favourites. Got a chance to watch Cars 2 and absolutely loved it!! Story line was unique and with Mater being just as important as McQueen in this movie definitely had me laughing. Got to be one to see again in a few months. Worth a watch for any age!
Don't think about the concept. But funBy Blueted (4 reviews) , 10 May 2012I have never got my head around the concept of Cars. In fact, everytime I do I get annoyed because it doesn't work. If cars ruled the world why would motels exist? Why would they eat food? See, I'm doing it again! If you forget this (and its a big if) this is a fun movie and is very well animated; the cars and settings look amazing. The plot is a bit highbrow but sort of works and my 4 year old son loves the movie and has watched our rental 10 times. Based on his opinion it is fantastic! Also I felt it was better than the first film as its more outlandish and exciting, less predictable and Mater is featured heavily (who is the best character by far). The global aspect also keeps things relevant. Its not all about Nascar!
Pixar's First FlopBy mcquinny (6 reviews) from Bristol , 07 May 2012Up until now I have loved every Pixar film, but this is one sequel too far.
It is beautiful to look at and then scenes involving racing are fun to watch, but I think it was a bad move making Mater into the main character and the English spy movie angle just didn't work.
I'm hoping Brave will restore my faith in Pixar movies again!
Fun, but nothing specialBy tam115 (22 reviews) from Southampton , 04 May 2012I really can not fathom where all the hate came from for this movie. Is it the worst pixar movie? No, its better than the original. But even if you disagree and say it is the worst pixar movie that's like saying Jupiter isn't as big as the sun.
Cars 2 is not great, not bad, but heck! I still enjoyed it for what its worth. The animation is incredible (including the sound effects, those cars sound awsome!), the plot is fun, and I like the way they tried something completely different than the first one. Its a good time.
The problem is that's pretty much all I can say, because the one thing it sadly fails at is the characters. There not bad, but you just don't care. As a result I cannot go into my emotional response to this movie because... well... there isn't much of one.
The main character tries hard but is frankly just irritating, and the supporting cast are your standard animated movie affair. Worst of all is the extended list of racing driver cameos. I got a chuckle from seeing real people portrayed as there car, but they are drivers not actors.
But that doesn't hide what this movie is at heart, good harmless fun. It'll entertain your kids and you'll find yourself grinning at times. If any other studio had made this it would have been praised, but because its pixar all of a sudden its a let down. Trust me, you'll enjoy it, its definitely better than the majority of the rubbish filling the market.
