A Great Quirky Film

This is a really quirky film. Will Ferrell is great as the male lead. I never expected him to do the entire film in Spanish, and he does it really well. There are lots of very funny scenes so don't let the subtitles put you off.
It's definitely low budget, but uses the low budget to great comedic affect.- Was this review helpful to you?

Brilliant or limp? Maybee time will tell, but first view left me disappointed.
By Deadshoedropkick (7 reviews) , 19 Apr 2013I suspect if I watched this a few times, I'd find some humour that I missed first time through. However, I can't be bothered. Just didnt hit the mark in terms of genuinue spontaneuous laughter. Reading subtitles probably takes away from the flow also (its a Spanish language film).- Was this review helpful to you?

Bad choice
By a customer , 16 Apr 2013Dreadful film - totally unfunny. Watched about a third of the film waiting for it to improve but then gave up!- Was this review helpful to you?

painstakingly average comedy
By jimmerjammer (1 review) from Bolton , 04 Mar 2013this is definitely a film you will find funny if you like to laugh at minor points including facial expressions or subtitled-dialogue. especially worth a watch with friends that have a similar sense of humour. however some part drag on, and the sub-titles are a pain to watch if you are tired ant not fully up to watching it.- Was this review helpful to you?

This is the ultimate Marmite Movie...
By IGN (29 reviews) , 01 Mar 2013...like one of the reviews said, you either love it or hate it. You gotta be a Ferrel fan to like this; it is a random comedy, I like to look at it as a great B movie because the entire production is cheap but that's what makes this so great, it's comic in many ways. What I'm mostly surprised is that some of the acting is pretty good, obviously it isn't anything near Oscar worthy but the type of film this is, it was good at times. Also, this kind of films tend to be boring at scenes but the directing was very good, as the story line is very engaging, and the music, ohh I love Mexican music anyway so for me it had wonderful background music. Be open minded when you watch this because it's unlike most stuff you have ever seen, this film requires a high level of sense of humour. Just put aside any expectations and enjoy the extreme quirkiness of this movie.- Was this review helpful to you?
