Play it sam..........

I was unsure what to expect when I hired this title, it was a film I had been meaning to watch for ages but always put it off. I just couldn't believe it would live upto the hype, but boy was I wrong, it is an absolute classic and deserves all the praise it gets. It was so good to finally see and hear all the famous scenes and quotes in the context of the film. I can't fault this film, there is a bit of everything, humour, romance, great acting/direction and I could watch it time and time again, what more could you ask for. So hire it immediately and soak up the atmosphere of Casablanca.- Was this review helpful to you?

Vive la France
By a customer , 05 Mar 2013Mostly I remember the last one. The wow finish. A guy standing on a station platform in the rain with a comical look in his face because his insides have been kicked out.- Was this review helpful to you?

good revival
By tonywh (1 review) , 21 Nov 2012A wonderful film bringing back many memories of the oldies. As an oldie myself the naivety of acting adds a smile at times but all the better for that- Was this review helpful to you?

A classic slightly improved
By riskysmith (107 reviews) , 14 Nov 2012[Highly rated reviewer]
Being a fan of Peter Lorre I bought a copy of the dvd of this film along with every other of his films except one. The one I do not have is Scent of Mystery from 1960 which does not seem to be available anywhere. However seeing that they have made a blu ray version of the film I wanted to see if it improves what is a very old film. The black and white film has certainly improved in clarity but it is still small screen and I do not think I shall replace the one I have. Any one who has never seen this classic should rent this disc.- Was this review helpful to you?

Surprisingly good
By a customer , 22 Feb 2012I didnt expect to like this but although it has dated and I thought Ingrid Bergmans character was an unpleasant sort who didnt deserve either man, it is still a good watch. One to watch for the experience, impressive it has stood up as well as it has after 70 years.- Was this review helpful to you?
