With comic books and cartoon series full of muscle-bound superheroes vying for big-screen superstardom, it's nice to see a gentler character making such an impact in his first film outing. Here, Casper the Friendly Ghost is doing his bit to make Whipstaff Manor a homelier place for lonely Christina Ricci to live, but it's his ghoulish uncles Stretch, Stinkie and Fatso who scare up all the fun in this enchanting family comedy. Although the movie is dominated by special effects, Cathy Moriarty's hissable villainy nearly steals the show. Once just won't be enough for most youngsters.

    not bad

the story in short is a guy and his daughter (mother died)move into a new house which happens to be haunted by casper and three unfriendly friendly ghosts who try to get the occupants to vacate but they stay. A young christina ricci who starred in a lot of kids films around the time a good family film on the whole

    A lovable film for all.

You have your laughs and tears in this film. If you're a softy like me the words 'Can I keep you?' will have you in tears at the end. Great fun film.

    Interesting but..

it was ok, but it has aged and i only got this for my 3 year old son to watch. He was not impressed and only liked when he saw the ghosts. And watching Christina Ricci and her enormous forehead was quite frightening!!
