Martin Short has Tom Hanks to thank for bailing him out of a recent fender-bender, revealing the Cast Away star calmed the angry driver down by offering to hear his movie pitch. The Father of the Bride star was shopping near his Palisades home in New York when he spotted Hanks perusing the mall on Christmas Eve (24Dec11).
