I ordered this game from abroad to avoid the massive delay for Europe. I've completed the game and I have to say that it's a lot more difficult than the previous 2D Castlevania games on the DS. Don't get me wrong I'm no rookie with these games but I seemed to struggle with certain parts due to hardly any money in game to buy potions etc.

The graphics are the usual type however there are some really nice animations on some enemies and bosses including a giant shadow of a wolf which did impress me.

There are multiple locations to go through until you ultimately get to Castlevania itself. These range from forests, caves and rivers to name a few. You can think of these as the mini levels like in Portrait of Ruin. This adds a good variety to the game to make it different from the older Castleroid style games that were just based in the castle.

Your main character does not equip any weapons as such. There is a Glyph system which basically means that you absorb weapons and magic to use. This has a nice combo trick to it where you can equip one glyph to the X and Y buttons and attack quickly with a combinations of two weapons/spells. I'll miss this when playing the older games as it's a nice feature. However I think with this they must have thought to raise the enemies life levels as I don't ever remember the enemies being so tough!!!

Overall this is a nice installment to the DS Castlevania games but I would have hoped for a more exciting storyline that I actually want to see like a sequel to Dawn of Sorrow.
