LA LIZ DOES IT AGAIN.By kimdevine (24 reviews) from UK , 24 Feb 2005
[Highly rated reviewer]PERHAPS THE FINEST PERFORMANCE IN A LONG AND AMAZING CAREER FROM LIZ TAYLOR.
PAUL NEWMAN IS SUBLIME IN HIS PERFORMANCE OF A MAN COMING TO TERMS WITH HIS HOMOSEXUALITY, UNABLE TO SATISFY HIS BEAUTIFUL WIFE, WHILE OVERCOME WITH THE GUILT OVER THE DEATH OF HIS BEST FRIEND AND LOVER.
A TRUE CLASSIC.

Authentic Williams, overallBy JimD (17 reviews) from West Yorkshire , 27 Sep 2013Excellent and only slightly neutered screen version of the play, with no weak links in the casting. The reviewer who thought it long-winded should stick to Transformers.
Disappointing viewingBy a customer , 28 Apr 2013Cat on a Hot tin roof. Heard so much about it and found the story longwinded, not worthy of the actors' abilities.
Cat On A Hot Tin RoofBy JCStarkey (1 review) , 01 Apr 2013Give me a film like this every time. Great story, great screen play, great directing and great acting! Compare this to the films today - paper cup talent and cgi effects. Perhaps unfair but never the less true, there is no comparison! Great movie!
One of the best films ever...........By Caitlin888 (7 reviews) , 31 Mar 2013The playwright wrote this play with pure intensity at its best - cheers to Tennessee Williams. Even more cheers to this amazing film with intense emotions weaved through all the characters; a journey from damnation to redemption; dealing with issues like a cat on a hot tin roof!!! Of course Paul Newman is the cherry on the cake- his stillness throughout makes Elizabeth Taylor's passion ever greater. Saw this film first when I was 14 and never forgot it.....
A steamy play well playedBy Geofbob (50 reviews) , 25 Dec 2012You can almost feel the perspiration of the steamy south in this classic Tennessee Williams adaptation! Yes, Liz Taylor & Paul Newman shine like the stars they are - but surely the film would not work as well without Burl Ives' presence & stand-out performance as Big Daddy. Anyway, to be seen, for whatever reason!
