Essential viewing
By Dan Thurgood from Liverpool , 23 Mar 2007[Highly rated reviewer]
This film should be part of the national curriculum! Essential viewing for any student of South African history, it tells loud and clear of the appalling brutality of the white regime in pre-ANC led South Africa. The acting is of a high enough calibre to make me rate this film very good, but the overall impact makes happy to give it 5 out of 5. There are a couple of moments of slight cheesiness, but they shouldn't detract too much. Even the South African accents aren't too bad!- Was this review helpful to you?

(68)Catch a Fire
By Muskrat (40 reviews) from Oswestry , 27 Oct 2011Excellent portrayal of one man's life in Africa with his family in the '80s. Well acted and an interesting glimpse into cultural differences. Didn't realise it was a true story until the end. A bit slow to start but well worth viewing.- Was this review helpful to you?

'One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter'
By a customer , 16 May 2011This was watchable. It is in the slow, thoughtful genre of film. Made you think about the adage that 'one man's terrorist is another man's freedom-fighter.'
I was a little disappointed, expecting more depth.- Was this review helpful to you?

CATCH A FIRE
By Burnhamite (379 reviews) from BURNHAM , 17 Dec 2010South Africa was not the ideal place to live up until Nelson Mandella's release from prison and finally the then government accepted the wind of change which swept the land. However, this excellent movie illustrates not all was well within the ANC, who without doubt, has insurgents within it's ranks, Which leads to the question : When do terrorists become freedom fighters ? An excellent film and well worth watching.- Was this review helpful to you?

Catch A Fire (2006)
By a customer from London, England , 30 Oct 2010This was one of the best films in a long time. The performance from various actors was wonderful and i would advise anyone to watch it. Quite sad at times and also sad to think this really happened to an innocent man and his family.- Was this review helpful to you?
