Stupid, purile, silly, nonsensical, brilliant... all words that can be used to describe this film in a positive light.

Whilst watching this, I was both confused and amused at Cecil's attempts to create an ultra-low budget but ultra-real film, at the expense of those that churn out remake after sequel after adaption after remake. I found myself sympathising as he swore revenge on the makers of 'Patch Adams: The Directors cut'.

There are times when it gets to silly for it's own good, when Waters loses control of the madness of screen, and the extremity just irritates rather than amuses. But on the whole this was one of the most inventive films I've seen and well worth a watch. It's either this or Scream 4. Your call.

  • Wierd film ranting against commercial Hollywood

    Rated - 1.5 stars

I loved the fact this was a film ranting against commercial Hollywood and he takes the mickey with including films like 'Patch Adams 5' and 'Forest Gump 3'....I didn't understand the need for these celluloid terrorists to be horny all the time...he could have excluded that. It's an odd little film so you have to be in the right frame of mind....

  • " Ready For My Close-Up Mr Demented"

Once again Mr Waters has presented his very own unique vision and not disappointed. Just as with his previous films, he has delivered his message in the John Waters way, from his own John Waters universe. I will be watching this one again and again.

  • Funny, Bold, adventurous and best of all- unpredictable!

If you hate cliche, mediocre, predictable, mass produced Hollywood films then this is a film for you. It stands for original, creative and absolute films- instead of these mindless remakes that Hollywood keeps churning out for money.

a group of film makers go on a bizarre journey to create a new kind of movie using a famous actress (who they've kidnapped) as their leading lady. In a strange cult they pay homage to art/cinema travelling around in their customized van.

    quirky, dark and unforgettable

  • Not this time Mr Waters

I think John Waters is great but this film is a real let down. The acting is terrible, the plot is shoddy. I realise it is supposed to be spoofing some Hollywood cliches but if you are going to make a film rallying against mainstream cinema it has to be better than the films you are critising and this is certainly not.

  • great film for a handful of people

If you consider yourself a film buff (I do) then you will like this. If you love seeing people play against stereotype (I do) then you will like this. If you love films stuffed with film references (I do) and trivia (I do), then you will like this. I liked this. John Waters, when he is focused and employing talented people, is awesome (e.g. Hairspray, Cry Baby).
