This changed my life
By a customer from Walsall, UK , 11 Jun 2004[Highly rated reviewer]
I first saw this on the BBC in March 1999. I'm an 'alternative' music fan, I like to listen to more challenging music, such as the english group The Fall. I've not missed a John Peel programme for ten years. Yet there I was that night, transfixed by the sound of this woman in the red gown, my jaw dropped to my chest, where it remained for the duration of the concert. My life changed that night, and very much for the better. I've seen her perform live eleven times since then, and I'm looking forward to the next eleven. She is without doubt, the singer of our lifetime.- Was this review helpful to you?

(4)Big disappointment.
By Tehidyman (2 reviews) from Camborne , 15 Apr 2011Cecilia Bartoli presented a well sung set of pieces, but most did not showcase her vivacity seen in other compilations like Cecilia and Bryn at Glynebourne and operas like Marriage of Figaro. Only in the last aria from Carmen did we see and hear her at her very best. Subtitles might have improved it, as most of the time we had no idea what she was singing about.- Was this review helpful to you?

Oh dear dear
By a customer from Glasgow, Scotland , 21 Dec 2004How on earth can a star performer such as Cecelia Bartoli , whom I usually rave about, produce such a dreary concert. With the exception of the very last song from Carmen the usual vivacious gorgeous Cecelia we know and adore just isnt there. I fully realise that this is a very specialised choice of music but please please dont do it again.- Was this review helpful to you?
