By Tom Charity from LOVEFiLM
John C. Reilly steals the show in this quirky comedy about a naïve small-town insurance salesman who finds himself out of his depth in the 'big city'...

Nice Guys Win - Feel Good Fun
By 5ft7offootballheaven (300 reviews) from London , 07 Aug 2011[Highly rated reviewer]
As an insurance professional - I can recognise a lot of the beaviours here in this movie. Well, not really but it does strike various chords. Great little film that captures the good guy doing the right / wrong things and winding up if not with the girl (2) then with a whole eye opening outlook on life. Really enjoyable - Love John C Reilly. Brilliant.- Was this review helpful to you?

(36)A fun and amusing movie which reps will particularly enjoy
By heatonfan (7 reviews) from Manchester , 08 Apr 2013Funny movie if short of superb. This will appeal to anyone who has been on a sales conference or industry convention who will see bits of different personalities in the film taken to excess. It will not necessarily appeal to those who rent it because they liked the Hangover. Yes, it is silly and over the top but that is part of its charm, with an element of farce. You can't but help root for Tim Helms' character, Tim Lippe. The relationship between Lippe and his mature lover played by Sigorney Weaver is amusing. John Reilly creates some enjoyable slapstick moments and Isiah Whitlock does well in a counter-stereotype role as the straight guy.- Was this review helpful to you?

Few good laughs!
By Fr4nch3sk4 (22 reviews) from Derby , 14 Feb 2013Real true life story with no heart strings attached. Couple of moments are a bit boring, but that just makes it that much more real. Enjoyed the jokes.- Was this review helpful to you?

Sweet and entertaining
By a customer , 13 Nov 2012This is a sweet but average film. It is quite funny in parts, and the main character seems very simple and childish in his way. However beneath the exterior is a real man- Was this review helpful to you?

Nothing special
By deemac (25 reviews) , 27 Jun 2012This is an ok film to pass the time but nothing special. The story has been done before and if you fall asleep you should be able to fill in any blanks- Was this review helpful to you?

A wasteful shame
By Jem1975 (2 reviews) , 08 May 2012With such a great cast I thought this can't go wrong. All have had their comedy muscles flexed and have come out fighting......I can only presume that there was some mass drugging during production of this film as it is as far from a comedy as you can get. It looks like a comedy, in fact, with the sound off, it looks great....then you turn the sound back on and all you can hear are tumbleweeds as the deathly silence of mundane script writing and muted performances make your ears and eyes bleed. Ed Helms relies on his teeth (stupid grin throughout) to deliver his performance whereas Anne Heche and John C. Reilly are desperate to get something going but unfortunately there is NOTHING to work with. All in all a shame, a wasteful shame......and 80 odd minutes of my life I will never get back.- Was this review helpful to you?
