    CELLO

This is one of the most subtle, yet ultimately unnerving horror films I have seen in years. Beautifully photographed, with stunningly stylish sets, the story revolves around the rivaly in the lives of two girls who were both superb cello players - a rivalry that results in death and revenge from beyond the grave. The film is only let down by a 'second' ending, which undermines much of the terror that comes before, and would have been better had the final few minutes been clipped from it. Even so, this is a superb example of Asian horror at its best.

    Good watch

The main character is called Mi-ju and to start off with you think she has it all but things go badly for her when her career as a musician and a teacher are stunted and a menacing ex-pupil threatens her because she got a bad mark. To make things worse an invitation to a home-coming concert triggers her memory of her best friend's fatal car accident. A secret from the past seems to be catching up with her and things aren't what they seem to be. Could it be guilt that's causing all the trouble around her or is it something more sinister? Creepy but slightly confusing - still overall it's a good watch.

    Scary enough for me

Watched this alone late at night on a new big telly with grand picture and surround sound. Not the best idea I've had. Scared the bejeezus outa me. You could pick holes a mile wide in it if you wanted to but why waste your time. Just sink into it and go along for the whole scary ride.

The film was a waste of and hour and ahalf of my time.

Whilst the plot began well and made for an interesting film, it took and bizarre sinister turn that ended SO disappointingly. The end really was stupid and film producers should be banned from making films with such an ending that i wont put what it is just incase you do buy it. I recommend you avoid buying the film. I would not pay money for the film, im glad i only rented it.

If you changed the ending, lost the housekeeper and focused more on the obsessed student and made it a thriller around the obsession it could be a good film but the eerie parts of the film had me thinking what the hell is going on.

Things are not as they seem...

What can I say about this film? It's damned good. There's more twists and turns in the plot than a skinned rattlesnake in a barrel of salt and you should watch it.

I won't go into depth about how good I think the director is, etc, because other people always do that anyway, but the Tartan Asia Extreme films are excellent - I don't think I've seen a bad one yet and Cello is another one of these fantastic films.

Don't just take what I say for granted though. Watch it for yourself to find out. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

    Disappointing

I rented this as a fan of Korean film and the AsiaExtreme brand. The trailer was particularly inviting, with its reference to 'The Others' and 'A Tale of Two Sisters'. I was, therefore, somewhat disappointed with the 'not-so engaging' storyline, obscure characters with no overall relevance to the plot and the lack of suspense and scares. Overall, it was a bit of a mess. Unless you're a completist or a huge fan on Korean film/horror, I'd stick with 'A Tale of Two Sisters'.

    its fantastic

i am a big fan of asian cinema... and this movie certainly adds to my favourites... the direction, the acting and the suspense is really good.. this movie has a lot of twist in it... when the movie begins the movie is very slow n normal for about 30 mins of it.. and then things seem to start to go wrong n the movie leaves u confused till the very end when everything clears up.,... DEFI WORHT A RENT..

Fairly run-of-the-mill Korean horror, not particularly original.
