One hell of a Journey
By Ian Wilson from N.Ireland , 18 Jun 2007[Highly rated reviewer]
This is one of the best concerts i've seen in a long time, the singing and melodies are near perfect and the music is that lovely celtic haunting sound. There is nothing better that strong vocals from singers and this dvd provides it in the lorry loads and as a Hayley Westenra fan i wasn't disappointed. Rent it, you won't be sorry and the singers are hot as well- Was this review helpful to you?

(4)What a disappointment
By honesty (2 reviews) from BROOKEBOROUGH , 10 Jul 2009Rented this on the strength of some other reviews posted on the site. Mistake!!!. This rates as one of the worst DVDs I have ever watched. Filmed OUTDOORS at Slane in Ireland and then so obviously had the audio dubbed. A selection of female singers who appear more interested in trying to look beautiful than show any real emotion when singing. The whole production is totally artifical from start to finish. How a singer like Hayley Westenra got involved in rubbish like this is beyond me. Good photography but spoiled by mimed vocals. Definately not recommended, get an Enya DVD instead!!!- Was this review helpful to you?

excellent
By a customer from Northern Ireland , 22 Sep 2007some great songs performed brilliantly. great voices, but a couple of songs didn't suit certain voices (especially over the rainbow). some songs like 'the voice' was performed better here than the original. the song in irish, mo ghile mear was really catchy, as was many of them.
as a hayley westenra fan, i was disappointed that she didnt get alot of her own lines in some songs, although she performed her solos beautifully. scarborough fair was absolutely brilliant!
you raise me up was good, but i dont think it tops brian kennedy's version. alot of the songs most people will recognise, but a few on here i didnt know, but were good nonetheless.
the show had great timing and choreography, but that woman wasnt really playing the violin while leaping through the air like billy elliott, was she??? if she was, that was amazing!- Was this review helpful to you?
