superb historical thriller.....

This film is a British historical thriller directed by Neil Marshall who also directed the film called The Descent.

There are some savagely violent battle scenes and an adrenaline fueled chase through the breathtaking Scottish highlands in this movie.

Centurion is set during the war between the Roman soldiers and the Pict tribesmen during the 2nd century Roman conquest of Britain.

Michael Fassbender stars in the lead role as Quintus Dias who is a Roman centurion and the son of a legendary gladiator who leads a group of soldiers on a raid of a Pict camp to rescue the captured General Virilus the commander of the 9th Legion (played by Dominic West).

The son of the Pict leader is murdered during the raid, and the Romans find themselves hunted by a seemingly unstoppable group of the Pict’s most vicious and skilled warriors.

They are led by a beautiful and deadly tracker called Etian who is a mute (played by Olga Kurylenko).

She is hell bent on revenge because her family were butchered by the Romans and she had her tongue cut out by them.

A fantastic film and well worth watching !

Plenty of action and gore from a succession of two-dimensional characters. If you like comic-book heroes and dumb action films you'll probably like this. To be fair the first hour is ok, but the last third of the film is risible.

Watched without much high expectation. A number of familiar faces. Good/Great acting. Action scenes are somewhat gory but quality none the less. A good film to watch.

Wow what a film. Watch it and see, I must say in terms of violence it is very heavy for it's rating, but a great film. Someone compared it to Dog Soldiers and I can see why, it is equally,tentatively better, as good. Loved, loved, this film. Watch it and see.

Good movie, I would recommend it to anyone to watch. Quite easy to understand. Medium budget movie. Quite entertaining & thrilling.
