Epic Movie Featuring Women's rightsBy Rahul Nag from London, England , 29 Sep 2007
[Highly rated reviewer]I saw this film in a cinema in Central London and it is an amazing film. Absolutely non-Bollywood so no singing and dancing and amazingly well researched. I call it epic because at the end of the film you really do feel like you have been on a journey and so enveloped in this teams' lives.
If you have never seen an Indian film before I so strongly recommend this and if you have see this one as well. The film touches on so many social issues affecting women in India today from women expected to be subservient to men even in higher class families to their role in society as shown by the state of the women's team as well. However through it all it is an exciting film to watch.
Plus you might just fall in love with hockey as well...

An Indian, adult 'Mighty Ducks' for field hockey players!By seonaruth (6 reviews) , 13 May 2013'Let's Go India!' - as the title roughly translates. I and many of my fellow field-hockey players in the Melbourne leagues (Australia) were in this movie as extras, which was so unexpected and lots of fun! If you know India and Australia, you'll recognise many of the film locations and, although it's very predictable and sugar-sweet at times, it's a nice film to watch and an easy slide into the Bollywood genre as there is none of the singing and dancing more traditionally seen in the genre. Mr Khan is without a doubt the 'Brad Pitt' of Bollywood - maybe 10 times over - yet here he has chosen to act in a very different kind of film to the norm. If you've ever played field hockey you'll find yourself enjoying this film much more than you might first expect - a lovely, Indian version of 'The Mighty Ducks'.
