    [Highly rated reviewer]

This is a great game. It is thoroughly absorbing and you get out of it what you put into it. It is the usual football management affair. Buy. Sell. Negotiate. Tweak your team's training and tactics. Improve your stadium. You can really immerse yourself in it. I play it on the train to work and have almost missed my stop a couple of times. It is very satisfying when you score a last minute goal or have just beaten your local rivals. The control system is very intuitive and the whole game really works well on the PSP. My only complaint is that it's a little hard to score goals. I've played 14 matches so far and have scored 14 goals. No matter how the opponent team plays, their keeper always seems to have a blinder against me, often with a man of the match performance. My team is 2nd in the league and manages about 14-20 shots at goal per game so it is a little frustrating that so few chances go in. I guess I'll have to buy Michael Owen and Wayne Rooney then I'll be laughing. Still, if it were too easy it wouldn't be half as rewarding and would probably get boring quite quickly. In summary: if you like football management games then this game is well worth getting, now with the added bonus that you can play it anywhere!

  • 'It really is that bad'

    Rated - 1.0 star

I have been a championship manager user since the early days of massive floppy discs in the early to mid ninetys, i have never seen such a poor version of the game as this. complicating main screens, un-understandable commentry skiping from 'he takes the ball down the wing, the keeper takes the goal kick, its just not good enough. A few years ago the original creators of cm left eidos to have some time off, this showed in all of the virus's needing patches from the net to make the game work on the pc, after this they decided to branch off and re-create their own game as they were not given the freedom they wanted, hence Football manager, a peice of advice, wait until football manager comes out it will beat this hands down. No need to even try this, it really is that bad.
