Comic book blockbuster Watchmen has blasted Slumdog Millionaire from the top of the box office chart. The adaptation of Alan Moore's celebrated graphic novel, starring Billy Crudup and Jeffrey Dean Morgan, took £3.2 million to top the chart on its first weekend (07-08Mar09) on release. Angelina Jolie could be about to replace Tom Cruise in the lead role of a forthcoming action film, according to reports.
