Here's a movie where the only thing that dates are the clothes. It's got a great script, it's tightly filmed and beautifully paced and played. Not as dark as'No country for old men' but pretty much the same plot. The pipe smoking mafia hit man is memorably scary and Walter Matthau is a joy. It also has one of the great movie lines. 'I don't sleep with whores....leastwise, not knowingly'. Full of old-fashioned virtues.
