Winfrey eyeing big screen comeback

TV titan Oprah Winfrey is in talks to make her big screen comeback 14 years after her last starring role. The star, who wrapped up her daily chat show last year (11), is eyeing a movie return in a biopic of Eugene Allen, who served eight U.S. presidents as a butler in the White House. Producers are courting Winfrey to play Allen's wife, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Hugh Jackman, Mila Kunis and John Cusack are also attached to the project. Dakota Fanning was delighted with her role as rocker Cherie Currie in The Runaways - because she was determined to shake off her child star image. The 16 year old shot to fame aged seven in drama I Am Sam, before going on to land starring roles in children's favourites Charlotte's Web and Coraline. Dakota Fanning is tipped to star in a sequel to The Wizard Of Oz, according to reports. The 15 year old star of Charlotte's Web and War of the Worlds is set to take the lead in a follow-up to the classic 1939 movie that shot Judy Garland to fame. The film's producer, Basil Iwanyk, says, "It will be set in the present day and feature Dorothy's granddaughter." The original film - based on L. Julia Roberts takes role of murdered conservationist

Julia Roberts, last heard as the voice of the spider in the Dakota Fanning film Charlotte's Web, is set to play murdered British conservationist Joan Root in a film about her life. To make the biopic, Roberts will again team up with Working Title Films, which produced the smiley leading lady along with Hugh Grant in one of its biggest hits, Notting Hill.
