  • Kevin Smith Gets A Bit More Serious

This film while having it's undeniable Kevin Smith moments is the most serious film he has made to date, and is none the worse for it. The story of a man chasing a lesbian turns out to be really quite moving with Ben Affleck and Joey Lauren Adams giving impressive performances as the two lovers in question. Jason Lee plays to the more typical Kevin Smith type as the cynical wisecracking Banky but his motivations are also delved into. Overall yet another great movie by Mr Smith, he doesn't seem to be capable of making bad ones!

  • Awesome - Kevin Smith at his best

A well thought out romantic comedy/drama which confronts issues which will always plague men about women and their pasts. The story is brilliantly constructed, the comedy is there as always. Throw in Jay and Silent Bob (with his sage words of wisdom) and we have another Kevin Smith classic. I urge everyone to watch this before you die.

  • The blu-ray was busted

The blu-ray kept on jumping so I could not watch properly. However, it didn't look like my thing to be honest. Besides usually hot Ben Affleck had a horrible goatee

  • Disappointing anticlimax

Very disappointed with how inevitable so many things are in this film and what a ludicrous amount of cliches are used. This film was reasonably highly rated, and although the plot isn't awful, it's just horribly executed, with the wrong cast and wrong script.

I related to this movie very much, if i had watched it 7 years ago and realized the moral of the film maybe i would still be with my Amy (Pun intended). the overall comical value was your typical Kevin Smith philosophy of comedy and homophobic jokes, Would of been a lil better tho if Jason mews and Kevin Smith had longer in the movie. If Your a Smith fan Then this is for you, but if your one of those stuck up proper people who have no sense of hummer then its best if you go find a Disney film lol.

  • Kevin Smith Does Serious in Kevin Smith Style

    Rated - 3.0 stars

I personally find Kevin Smith a bit hit and miss, and in many respect this sums up this movie to me. It has his usual subtle social commentary bound up in a well scripted story which as is his norm relies some what heavily on the monologue. It is this that makes me waiver on this film and also makes me nervous as to whom I'd recommend it. His usual style works with comedies, and improved over time with Dogma possibly his best work. The problem is it makes this serious romance some what cold and stilted. If you are a Smith fan then you should watch this one, even if just to complete the 'Jay and Silent Bob' set. It's a decent enough movie, well directed, well shot, well acted, but to me it's just missing something, possibly some soul.
