Good but not for everyoneBy a customer from Leeds , 01 Jan 2009
[Highly rated reviewer]Just came back from a pre-screening of both parts and have to say that I spent great five hours in the cinema. This (first) part tells about Ches story in Cuba at the beginning of the revolution. I advise you to read about Che before you go to see this movie because there is no introduction to his life at all. Without knowing a bit about the most recognized revolutionist you may feel like you missed the first hour. The movie is made well and you wont get bored at all. Really good effort from Soderbergh. Benicios performance was outstanding. Probably his best till now...?? Be prepared to read subtitles most of the time unless you know Spanish. One more thing. If you know Che only from your t-shirt print then maybe it is not the best choice for you to see this film. Better choose Spiderman 7 or sth like that...

A complete boreBy notyou (16 reviews) , 18 Jun 2011Sorry can't see what all the hype is about, watched 11/2 hours of men walking through rainforest. Nothing else happens. Could not waste my time on part 2
Not quite up to the hypeBy Astuentach (11 reviews) from Romford , 15 Jun 2011Seemed a little slow... I've just watched part 2 and i'm not sure why it needed to be broken up... ok generally, but it dragged in places
Wasted opportunityBy a customer , 12 Jun 2011Pointless docu-drama that neither gives you insight into the man of the title or explains the history and politics he stands for. Watch Motorcycle Diaries if you want to understand the man. We got this hoping to find out more about Che Guevara after enjoying Motorcycle Diaries but were disappointed in this bitty non-sensical offering. A wasted opportunity.
Born to play this role...By WildIrish (59 reviews) from Wilts/London , 02 Jun 2011Benicio Del Toro has got Che down to a tee very believable all the way through. Enjoyed it and was quite surprised when it came to an abrupt end - Part 2 obviously but could have been rounded out a little rather than dropped. Probably a little glossy given the history and fighting involved could have been a little more realistic in terms of the sweat and tears etc. But an interesting film and worth a look but not on a par with the motorcycle diaries showing the early life. I hear Part 2 is more pessimistic and gritty but why there should be such a contrast not clear.
Viva la REVOLUCION!By Juanos (3 reviews) , 24 Apr 2011It is Che. He really is Che. A long and demanding war film but he really is Che! An absolute must for any wannabe socialist revolutionary. Viva Cuba! Viva la REVOLUCION!
