We found Cheers years ago, and much prefer the ones with Shelley in, we must have missed a couple of the first episodes so was good to fill in, as when we first watched them, some are absolutely brilliant, others forgettable, but we really got to like the characters, so are enjoying the Blast from the Past (another good dvd!)
...cheers for a great TV show, so well written and the cast just amazing.
Hard to believe that when cheers first aired in the US it was the very bottom of the ratings!!! It was 77th out of 77 in the US 'Nielsen Ratings' WOW was that ever wrong!
Cheers just went straight to number one and in my heart it will always be one of the very best of the US and as an extra bonus we got 'Frasier' and just how popular was that and for good reason:)
Absolutely brilliant! To start off was a little weak as the characters start to shape up but then it just gets better by the episode! BRING IT BACK!

What can I say, watched the series on TV, nice to be reminded of how good the series actually is. Classic Cheers.

What a great first season, it's really good to see these first episodes of what becomes one of the best American comedies ever. All the characters are fantastic and the interplay between Sam and Diane is genius! I cant wait to get season 2 delivered!
Anyone who loves old classic comedy series will love this - An American classic, dont like Americans but in terms of TV Programs - cant beat it!
Sam Malone - Ex-Baseball Pitcher, alchololic, gambler and no good waste of space, only thing he could do was throw a ball (a few times) and fill up his little black book (the original black book holder!) leaves the world of baseball, buys a bar and quit drinking, then the only girl he cant have starts work - and the rest is nowhere near what you think is happening, its better!
One of the longest running series in USA history and one of the classics - Everyone wants to go where everyone knows your name!
This is the series that made Ted Danson and Shelly Long household names. It is a great comedy programe that although over 20 years old it still holds up against modern comedy series.I will be looking forward to watching later series of this
Fabulous, chemistry between characters is amazing especially Jack and Diane.

Despite the welcome nostalgia concerning this series I was reminded once again of the sheer genious of this show. It was sophisticated, wonderfully funny, every main character was interesting and lovable without being stereotyped and not a shred of ugly foul language, why? There was no no requirement, the polished performances spoke for themselves. It made me despair, and somewhat embarrased, about some of our so-called humour with wonderful exceptions such as Have I got News for You' etc.
