One of the most beloved and critically-acclaimed television series of all time, CHEERS ran for 11 years and centred on the colourful staff and patrons of the Boston bar 'where everybody knows your name'. Run by former Red Sox pitcher and ladies' man Sam Malone (Ted Danson), the establishment's ever-present characters include salty barmaid Carla (Rhea Perlman), dim-witted bartender Woody Boyd (Woody Harrelson), barflies Norm (George Wendt) and Cliff (John Ratzenberger), pompous psychiatrist Frasier Crane (Kelsey Grammer), and, of course, Sam's love interest/nemesis Diane Chambers (Shelley Long). This collection includes all 26 episodes of the award-winning fifth series, which was the last for Long. Featuring guest appearances by John Cleese, Bob Costas, Dan Hedaya, Bebe Neuwirth, and Brent Spiner, the fifth series also includes the famous food-fight episode 'Thanksgiving Orphans', named by TV Guide as an all-time classic.
