Chicken Little

Disney's first venture into the realm of CGI animation (without Pixar) tells the tale of all-animal town Oakey Oaks's most infamous resident, Chicken Little (voiced by Zach Braff), who causes town-wide panic when he claims the sky is falling. A year later he's still shunned by everyone, including his dad (Gary Marshall), a single rooster with an incredibly wide tie. Determined to end his losing streak, the bespectacled Little joins the baseball team, even though he can barely lift the bat. Luckily his three equally outcast friends have faith in him: a pig with a yen for '70s disco (Steve Zahn); a Harpo Marx-esque goldfish in a diving helmet; and Abby, a buck-toothed female duckling (Joan Cusak). According to her sources in magazines such as Modern Mallard, Abby is sure Chicken Little merely needs closure with dad over the sky incident. But when the sky really does start falling due to a full-on alien invasion, and only Chicken Little knows why, dad still doesn't want to believe him.

    Others are better

If you want the kids to see a funny film then there are others better than this. The animation is great, the effects are very good, there is even a story (weak as it is), but it lacks humour. It is funny in places but just not funny enough and not funny often enough. We took my 6 year old and eight year old. The six year old was so bored that my wife took him out after 30mins. I had the pleasure of sitting through the rest of the film!

We watched it at the cinema and it was sooo very quiet. The was no laughing out loud. No other company see to be able to match Dreamworks. With so much choice in this area at them moment you are better of seeing one of the others. If you really want to see this then wait until it comes out on DVD, rent it and at least you can turn it off when the kids get bored, or you can fall asleep on sofa when watching it with them.

This may seem harsh and as I say it looks great, full of colour and it sounds great. Just dont expect the adult laughs that films like Shrek have. The only bit that raised a big laugh has something to do with the big pig and bouncing down the hillside. Lets just say it make the sort of noises that kids love to hear!!
