More entertaining but not as scary as the first

Following on from the first film Andy Barclay (Alex Vincent) is put into care where he recovers from his traumatic experience in the first film. Andy gets snapped up by foster parents Joanne and Phil Simpson (Jenny Agutter and Gerrit Graham), who are wary of his condition but soon warm to him and quickly except him as part of the family.

Unknown to his foster parents and his new friend Kyle (Christine Elise) who is also being fostered by the couple, Andy’s memory is still plagued by the possessed Good Guys doll Chucky. Who, in the first film, tried to take over Andy's body to dispose of his plastic exterior before it’s too late and he is stuck in the doll forever.

Overall I enjoyed this film and I actually thought it was more entertaining than the first. There is less suspense in this film and because of this it’s no way as scary.

Chucky (voice of Brad Dourif) is now a lot more animated and seems to be more human-like compared to the first film. There are plenty of cheesy one liners and bad language from Chucky to make you laugh.

The special effects are good considering the time it was made (1990). But, the best part of the film in my opinion is the ending which takes place back in the toy factory. Chucky proves once again that he is quite relentless in his methods.

It’s going to take a lot to finish off this Good Guy!

    childs play 2

A fairly good sequel to the first film. This film is funnier rather than scary. Also quite predictable at times. It was still a good film overall.

Looking forward to watching no. 3 in the series!

A well pieced together sequel. Explaining the link for the ending of the prequel to how the story canbe continued even though it was a little cheeky! Looking forward to watching no. 3 in the series!

    And he's back...

Quite a well-known movie. But I think it's stuck in its little time-frame. The idea of a small doll being possessed by a dirty demon is just quite follical and not scary, like it should be. I think the casting on the little boy is totally wrong - a more intense actor should've been used to bring home the impact. But all in all, this film is more fun than scare. If you want to keep it light-hearted, watch this...
